TRAINEE RURAL PRACTICE SURVEYOR AND/OR A WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT / INTERNSHIP - SUMMER 2012
We will be looking for a Graduate Trainee Rural Practice Surveyor and/or a Work Experience Placement/Internship of more than 44 weeks to start in the summer of 2012, both to assist with/experience a wide range of professional and agency work to include: agency work covering entitlements, land & farms, residential lettings, and country house and development land sales; farm and business consultancy; rural valuations; Single Payment Scheme and agri-environment schemes advice; assisting with arbitration and expert witness work; GPS mapping; easements and compulsory purchase; FBT and grazing licence lettings; landlord and tenant matters; property & estate management and rent reviews; renewable energy schemes; rural Town & Country planning and diversification.
The Graduate Trainee Surveyor will be working closely with the senior partner and his other assistants. This post is ideal for students of estate management with a desire to service a wide and varied client base, and a keenness to expand the role beyond APC qualification. The Work Experience Placement/Internship would also give the opportunity to work closely with the senior partner’s assistants, and this internship would be ideal for students of estate management, especially doing a sandwich course. This work experience (either before leaving University or afterwards) is designed to help students improve their chances of gaining a Graduate Trainee position either with ourselves or another firm.
Good communication skills, high professional standards, attention to detail, an eye for presentation and a desire to rapidly take on responsibility and expand the role as required are needed. A love of the countryside and an enthusiasm for farming and estate management as a traditional land agent would be ideal. A “personable problem solver”.
