As rural surveyors based in the South West, and approved consultants for Business Link, Townsend Chartered Surveyors have a great deal of experience in preparing Agricultural or Business Need Assessments for clients to demonstrate the need for new agricultural buildings or accommodation.
Most planning applications for new agricultural accommodation will require an Agricultural Need Assessment Report, which must demonstrate how the business passes the Functional Need and Financial Tests. We have also been involved in preparing a number of Business Need Assessments for rural-based businesses to achieve change of use status for existing buildings, or extra accommodation to ensure the business needs can be met.
